Job Summary
We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team! As a Civil Engineer, you will be designing new or improving existing plans, from footings and structural elements to pavement calculations, roadways, and even stormwater systems. In addition to creating initial plans, you will monitor the ongoing construction of your designs as needed to ensure the heart of the design is being followed and the appropriate quality is being upheld. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with AutoCAD or a similar drafting program, has excellent attention to detail, and is familiar with building codes and typical construction methods and materials. Engineer to conduct a comprehensive traffic evaluating afternoon commuter patterns and overall ingress and egress from Downtown Beaumont to the interstate.   
Responsibilities 
  • Create new drawings based on customer specifications and needs
  • Modify existing drawings to meet the architectural or customer needs
  • Create virtual models with design software
  • Go out into the field as needed to observe the construction and ensure the drawings are being followed appropriately
  • Maintain excellent records on progress and projects handled
  • Investigate existing traffic operations 
  • Conduct traffic flow and volume/speed studies 
  • Develop conceptual layouts for geometric changes, road closures, and implementation/removal of traffic control devices Analyze crash data 

Qualifications
  • Bachelors or higher in Civil Engineering desired
  • Must hold current state license or be willing to obtain
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D
  • The ability to work well both independently and within a team
  • Familiarity with building codes and construction materials
Compensation: $41.00 - $52.00 per hour
